TideHash vs hourly rig-rental marketplaces

There are two common ways to rent Blake2b (XBT) hashrate: hourly rig-rental marketplaces such as Mining Rig Rentals (MRR), where you rent individual rigs by the hour, and an order book like TideHash, where you bid for TH/s and the highest bids are served first. Here is how they differ.

Many Blake2b renters already use Mining Rig Rentals. TideHash is a different model, not a replacement for every case.

TideHash base price now–USD per TH/s per day, the lowest bid that gets hashrate. Live order book

Our base price is set to match Mining Rig Rentals' suggested Blake2b price, with no rental fees on top, and you pay us directly per order. Actual rentals on hourly marketplaces can still go lower.

Hourly marketplaces are often cheaper, and they suit you better if you want one specific rig, very short rentals, or you already hold a marketplace balance. Compare current prices before you decide.

When TideHash fits well

  • You want TH/s for your own pool or DATUM gateway without opening an account.
  • You would rather set your own price and wait than pay a rig owner's price now.
  • You want to pay only for work your pool accepted, and keep every TH-hour you paid for if you are outbid.
  • You want to pay per order by card, BTC, USDT, XBT and more.
  • You want to see the market: the order book and recent activity are public.

When an hourly marketplace may fit better

  • You want to choose one specific rig or rig owner.
  • You only need a very short rental, measured in a few hours.
  • You already hold a balance on that marketplace.

Common questions

Is TideHash cheaper than Mining Rig Rentals?

Not always. Hourly marketplace prices are often lower than our base price. TideHash is for renters who prefer bidding their own price, paying per order without an account, and paying only for accepted shares.

Do I need an account?

No. You need a pool (or your own DATUM gateway) and a payment. Email is optional, for receipts and alerts.

What happens if someone outbids me?

Your order slows or pauses and keeps every TH-hour you paid for. It finishes later; nothing is lost.

How is delivery measured?

By the shares your pool accepts, so you pay for work your pool actually accepted.

Which pools work?

Your own DATUM gateway (recommended) or an XBT pool. Many XBT pools are DATUM-only, so check your pool's guidance first. See the pool settings guide.

Can I reserve hashrate ahead?

Yes. Place a bid now and it starts when capacity frees up at your price.
